A conference call Saturday, Aug 13, between various focalizers and kitchens resulted in a consensus site at Texas Gap, Here are directions to Texas Gap. The full moon is August 11, so on Aug 18 the moon will be in third quarter, which by standard goofy astronomical terminology, means that you will see a half moon rising about midnight (1am DST). It will get smaller and later through the week until new moon on the 27. If you stay late for clean-up you may see it come back as a thin crescent in the west at sunset.
