Subject:Re: [CALM] Ithaca Gathering Update
i will be attending the NERF council next weekend and will stay for a few extra days to help out with any medical stuff at this ithaca thingee. the NERF council will be located in the same forest area but we are coming in the back gate. i plan to bring a bunch of first aid supplies like ice packs, ace wraps, gauze, ect. i will also have a homeopathic kit, rescue remedy and a few essential herbs. i will be bringing a few radios so that i can be contacted while i am in council. i will probably bring a few tarps, an extra tent and lantern for night care. i am considering having a cot and the stretcher, which are being stored near woodstock, ny, brought as well. if there is a responsible person, i will consider leaving some of the supplies when i leave. there is no calm unit there as it is very difficult to recuit a calm crew on such short notice. nerf is planning to have a real focalized regional gathering next summer and it would be great to have a real calm crew there. btw, i will be seeing the dog that F so wonderfully saved. B reports that she is doing well.
Hey Kids

I took my weekly jaunt to the Ithaca Regional yesterday for a few hours. It seems that were even less people than last week, maybe 150.

I looked at a few peoples injures while there, there is still the same very small box of first aid supplies, but a bit more dwindled down. They could use some supplies if someone had some and was coming here. Things like cold-packs, and ibuprofen mostly.

That's it. If you have any questions, let me know

Another Report of Ithaca Gathering

shut-up & eat it, TKK,  the little kitchen & Ovens that are Lovin are here along with some national entertainers such as Fantuzzi& gaby along with the GF. The gathering small but tight in the center and so so in the front gate but it's definite a happening about 500 folks as of last night with the peak happening this weekend. We will be facilitating an heartsong lifedance circle for the full moon tonight & tomorrow night. If you are in the area stop by for a Hi. We will be heading south to florida after this weekend.

Report of Council

A bright and talented group of Nerflings sat in council on the land at Ithaca this weekend. After introduction and discussion the folks consented to support a Nerf reunion council on the long "labor" day weekend (Sept 2 - 5) somewhere in the green mountains of Vermont at a site to be selected by scouts. Among topics which will probably be discussed are: heartsong and healing, our ailing elders, the reunion of various nerf energies, and of course, the date and time of nerf's next council, regional, event or whatever. Others who were in Ithaca will confirm or deny any of what I've just mentioned.

In Ithaca, We counseled at "44" kitchen, nerf's mutant offspring, who's name comes from the Nerf's location on the gathering map at this years national. (When most of nerf was up at the strip mine). Some nerflings are "44" people also. "44" is a little kitchen that wants to focus on creating ovens, baking and serving meat at gatherings. At this point, "44" is tolerant of tobacco smoke under the kitchen tarp, dogs in the kitchen and the serving of meat. They are in a sense as much the child of lovin' ovens as they are of nerf's. Never the less, they are very lovable, hospitable and enthusiastic. We all had a great jamalama jam on Saturday night. Rumors from Ithaca are that some folks are heading to Vermont for yet another adhoc impromptu regional.

Please note that the nerf folks, I communicated with, are NOT intending to support a regional gathering in Vermont following the end of the Ithaca thing already in progress. Please note also that the folks who signed a permit for the Ithaca gathering under the rainbow name were A-camp folks (little h. in particular).

We hope that Nerf and friends will gather together in council on this long labor day weekend in Vermont to keep our beautiful affair of years and beautiful memories going and going .
