This Sunday, a bunch of individuals are meeting on Zoom to talk about what we want to do this summer, find out what other people are planning, and talking about upcoming regionals and options for small satellite gatherings concurrent with NM/AZ (folks are calling them Prism Gatherings: ("refraction, not division").
We were in that chat. I was surprised to find there was no NERF representation. It was mostly west coast people,
There was (at least) one person from Pennsylvania who made it clear that the PA "gathering" was meant to be a small local event.
They talked about the "prism" gathering. I did not understand, but then someone mentioned the disco ball. The disco ball, with its thousand points of light, is a good metaphor for the plan. Many small local gatherings. I think they may be confusing reflection with refraction, but no matter—Let's do it!

Howdy,I put one on http://www.nerflings.org but it's not made obvious. If you need it, look under "What about gatherings in 2021?" click on "discussion on the mailing list", and then look at the end of the first message.Does anybody know exactly where the Pa gathering is? Is there a, "Howdy folks" somewhere?
But if you are reading this, you are already on the nerflings.org web site, so just click here for information about the Pensylvania gathering.

The drive from Massachusetts to Hearts Content, Allegheny NF is 8 hrs and 490 miles. The drive to Ridgway PA, is about the same.
By the way, according to their Chamber of Commerce
and Wikipedia, there is no "E" in "Ridgway".

says:
Ridgway is named for the Philadelphia shipping merchant, Jacob Ridgway.Mail From: <Number> continues:
I haven't ruled it out but I have problems traveling long distances during pandemic times and probably will have for a while. I was hoping for a more regional camp out for the long Fourth of July weekend and if that doesn't happen, so be it.We have ruled it out. If we were going to PA we would have left by now. Still, 2n wants to go camping.
For years (decades) we have spent the morning of July 4 in silence. Some years we do it at a gathering, some years we just stay at home in bed.
Several times we have gone to a loser's gathering at Rob Ford (Granville, site of the 1991 July 4 gathering).
This year, unless someone proposes a better idea, we will do it at the site of the 2016 gathering near Danbt VT. It's closer (to MA) than Rob Ford, and now equally sacred and well known.
I don't walk so well and so will camp pretty near the road. Our car is a Suburu with a yellow book on the dashboard. We will be there only for the July 4 weekend.
Maybe some other nerflings will join us. I hope they will. (maybe you?) In any case, we will be self-sufficient. We are not bringing a kitchen, just enough food, water and other supplies for ourselves for a few days in the woods.

I sure will be rooting for an August gathering in New England.I doubt we will be there, but it's too soon to say.
